The Academy
Intermediate Unit 1
Mission Statement:
The Academy programs offer students the opportunity for success in a blended learning environment that combines academic, social, life skills, and Character Education educational activities. Students expand their strengths and address their limitations to facilitate a transition back to their home school or into CTC programs. Academy students work to be productive, successful, and engaged members of our community.
Our Philosophy:
We offer a style of education in which students learn via electronic and online media (cyber) as well as traditional face-to-face teaching.
Programs:
- PA Standards Aligned Cyber Curriculum
- Social Work Groups
- Life Skills
- Project Based Learning
- Connection and collaboration with the Greene County CTC at the Greene County Academy
- Integrated Fab Lab Activities and hands on learning at the Fayette County Academy

Transition Plans:
Every student enrolled in the Academy has an individualized transition plan. That plan is designed to identify goals, expectations and needs for each student. The overall goal of the Academy is to help students meet their goals and transition to more promising situations.
Referral:
Fill out an Academy enrollment form and allow 24-48 hours for processing. Districts have the choice of using their own cyber program or utilizing the IU1 cyber program.
