Local Task Force
The Intermediate Unit 1 Local Task Force is a group of parents, educators, and community members who work together to support students with special needs in Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties. Our goal is to make sure every child’s rights are protected, encourage teamwork between schools and community agencies, and promote positive, collaborative solutions in education. Any interested person or family member of a student with a disability may attend any of the regularly scheduled meetings. Interested families are critical to the membership to keep the Local Task Force effective! The Intermediate Unit #1 Education Association (IUEA) Scholarship Committee is excited to share that the 2026 IU1EA Scholarship Application is officially OPEN! Two $500 character-based scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors receiving IU1 support and continuing on to a post-high school program (college, trade school, or training). This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize students who demonstrate perseverance, growth, kindness, and strong character—and we invite IU1 staff to submit applications on their behalf.
