Adult Basic Education and Career Readiness Classes
Services During COVID-19
Due to recent events, IU1 Adult Basic Education and Career Readiness has reconfigured our class models. During the 2020 -2021 school year, students will have a variety of learning options to choose from. All incoming students are required to participate in a remote one-on-one orientation where they work together with student support coordinators to craft a schedule that best suits their needs.
2020 – 2021 Instruction Models
- Face-to-Face Instruction – This was our previous, standard classroom model. Students will be instructed on location by a teacher who is also physically present in the classroom.
- Remote Learning – Students and teachers meet virtually using a remote conferencing computer platform.
- Hybrid Learning – Students and teachers will sometimes meet in a classroom and sometimes meet remotely.
* All l IU1 Adult Education classes follow the guidelines set forth by IU1’s Health and Safety Plan. Due to these circumstances, students are advised that their chosen class may operate in a fluid state where, for example, face-to-face instruction would become remote instruction for a time and then return to face-to-face instruction based on government guidelines. In cases such as these, all measures will be taken to ensure that learning remains constant.
