HiSET® Testing

Intermediate Unit 1 is a registered HiSET® test Center and offers the paper and pencil HiSET® test in Greene County on a monthly basis.

What is the HiSET® Test Like?

The HiSET® test measures what graduating high school seniors know and what colleges and employers will expect of you.

  • Five parts:
    • Science (80 minutes)
    • Social Studies (70 minutes)
    • Language Arts - Reading (65 minutes)
    • Language Arts – Writing (120 minutes)
    • Mathematical Reasoning (90 minutes)

What is the passing score?

On the HiSET® test you need to score at least an 8 on each of the subtests, a combined score of 45 and a minimum score of 2 on the essay. HiSET® Practice Tests allow candidates to view sample content and item types and provide them with general information about their level of preparation for taking the actual test.   Enrolled students in Intermediate Unit 1’s classes will be supported with the HiSET® Practice Tests.
