Complaint Procedure

Further, it is the responsibility of IU1 to ensure that all students and members of the IU1 community have a safe school environment. This includes ensuring that any incident of discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct is given immediate attention, including investigating the incident, taking appropriate corrective action, and providing students, staff, and other members of the IU1 community with appropriate supportive resources. Complaints alleging discrimination or harassment will be taken seriously and handled in a prompt and equitable manner.

In that regard, IU1 is responsible for coordination of compliance efforts and receipt of complaints and/or inquiries concerning non-discrimination requirements implemented by 40 C.F.R. Parts 5 and 7 (Non-discrimination in Programs or Activities Receiving Federal Assistance from the Environmental Protection Agency), including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act; Title IX; and Section 13 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972.
