Educational Foundation

To strengthen the capacity of students in Fayette, Greene, and Washington Counties to meet the challenges facing a 21st century citizen. To advance this mission, the Intermediate Unit 1 Educational Foundation will develop alliances with business organizations, foundations, and private citizens in order to support educational initiatives and programs for schools in Fayette, Greene, and Washington Counties.

To create state of the art educational learning environments in the schools in Fayette, Greene, and Washington Counties that provide students with outstanding educational opportunities.

Why is Intermediate Unit 1 creating a foundation?

Today’s student is tomorrow’s citizen and 21st century citizens will live and work in a global economy. They will compete for jobs with people from all over the world. In order to compete they must be prepared. By establishing a foundation, Intermediate Unit 1 will be able to obtain funds for the projects and equipment that can support the schools in Fayette, Greene, and Washington Counties as they prepare students to be 21st century citizens.

From where will Intermediate Unit 1 seek funding?

Intermediate Unit 1 believes that local businesses and individuals have a great interest in seeing local students succeed and that they will be eager to help if told how much they are needed and how they can help. By contributing to the IU1 Educational Foundation, local supporters will see the benefits of their generosity flourish right in their own community.

Intermediate Unit 1 will also look to regional and national corporations and foundations for support.
