Washington High School once again welcomed students from across the region for its annual S.T.A.R.S.—Schools Together with Athletes Reaching Success—Holiday Minute to Win It Challenge. Now in its 10th year, the event brought together approximately 197 students from 23 local high schools for a day focused on inclusion, teamwork, and holiday cheer.
Hosted by the Washington School District’s Life Skills and Autistic Support Programs, the event featured more than 20 holiday-themed game stations designed to build balance, coordination, communication, and collaboration. Students rotated through the activities with peers from other schools, enjoying festive music, treats, and a special visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
With support from teachers, paraprofessionals, and volunteers, the event continues to grow as a cherished tradition that celebrates students of all abilities. Community partners generously provided a complimentary lunch, helping make the day memorable for every participant.
This year’s milestone gathering once again demonstrated the spirit of S.T.A.R.S.—creating meaningful, shared experiences that unite students and strengthen a sense of belonging for all.
