The 2025 Western Pennsylvania AI Summit, hosted at Charleroi Area High School, brought together educators, administrators, students, and technology partners from across the region for an immersive day of learning, collaboration, and innovation. The event, organized by Intermediate Unit 1, focused on exploring the ways artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming education and preparing students for the future workforce.
The summit featured keynote speaker Amanda Bickerstaff, CEO and Co-Founder of AI for Education, who led an engaging discussion on how AI can empower both teachers and students when used thoughtfully and ethically. Attendees participated in breakout sessions and hands-on demonstrations presented by educational technology partners including Magma Math, Brisk Teaching, and Centegix, each showcasing how AI-powered tools can support personalized learning, classroom management, and student engagement.
Throughout the day, educators exchanged insights and strategies on integrating AI responsibly into instruction, promoting digital literacy, and maintaining a balance between innovation and human connection in the classroom. The event also provided students with an opportunity to explore future career pathways in technology and innovation-driven fields.
