Robotics
The IU1 robotics programs are an important component of IU1 summer camps and student workshops.
K–12 Robotics Engineering—Arts & Bots
Developed by the Community Robotics, Education, and Technology Empowerment (CREATE) Lab at Carnegie Mellon University, Arts & Bots engages both genders from elementary school through high school. Students combine craft materials, robotic components, and custom visual-programming tools to build and animate their own robotic creations. Arts & Bots is a flexible program that can be adapted to many contexts and subjects in and out of school.
Robotics Engineering—NXT Robotics
Students focus on pre-engineering processes and the integration of math and science principles as they design and program Lego NXT robots.
This program is a part of the IU1 summer camp series for students entering grades 3–8, where students are challenged to successfully complete a series of tasks.

Center for STEM Education
Robotics is an initiative of the IU1 Center for STEM Education. The center helps to roll-out best practice K–12 STEM programs, like providing graduate level courses for educators, implementing research based curricula, and offering summer camps for students.
