Paraprofessional Training
Provides pre-service and inservice training to prepare paraprofessionals for the field of special education as well as expanding knowledge and skills of those already working in special education.
Topics may include:
- Knowledge of disabilities
- Behavioral support
- Observing, recording, and reporting student data
- Tutoring
- Policies
- Instructional materials and resources
- First aid and safety
- Legal and ethical issues
- Equipment operation, job-specific skills, and job expectations
