On June 10, 2025, Waynesburg University welcomed educators and community partners for the Learning Without Walls Environmental Education Summit, hosted by the Southwest PA Environmental Literacy Hub. The day kicked off with a warm welcome from Alyssa Moore of IU1, followed by opening remarks from Dr. Christine Szewczyk and representatives from Waynesburg University, setting the tone for a day centered around collaboration, inspiration, and outdoor learning. Attendees participated in four breakout sessions focused on environmental literacy, sustainability, and hands-on teaching strategies. With networking opportunities, site visits, Act 48 credits, and a fun raffle to end the day, the event fostered a sense of community among educators passionate about bringing learning beyond the classroom walls.
