Opening: Emergency Substitute Teacher Program

Intermediate Unit 1 is currently accepting applications for the Emergency Substitute Teacher Program.
This Program is designed for individuals with a Bachelor’s Degree, but that are not certified teachers, to become trained and certified as an emergency day-to-day substitute teacher.
Application packets for the next class that is scheduled for March 2020, must be received by no later than February 28, 2020.
Candidates that are selected for an interview will be contacted by the Human Resources Department.
Candidates selected for the program must be available for both session dates, which are scheduled to take place on Monday, March 16, 2020 and Monday, March 23, 2020, from 9:00 am–3:00 pm at the IU1 Central Office, located at One Intermediate Unit Drive, Coal Center, PA 15423. The fee for the class is $75.00

The following application documents are required:
- Intermediate Unit 1 Substitute Application (PDF Document)
- Official sealed transcripts for Bachelor’s degree. Transcripts MUST be official. You can have your electronic transcripts sent directly from your college/university to the attention of Amy Fabery, HR Administrative Assistant, at email@example.com
- Three (3) letters of professional reference
Current Act 34 Clearance—Pennsylvania Criminal Record Clearance (not older than one (1) year)
This clearance can be completed online at https://epatch.state.pa.us.
Current Act 114 Clearance—FBI Criminal Record Clearance—Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE-Service Code for Intermediate Units) (not older than one year).
You must register for this clearance at https://uenroll.identogo.com.
This site will provide locations where you can have your fingerprints taken. The IU1 Central Office is a fingerprinting site. The operating times can be found at https://uenroll.identogo.com.
Current Act 151 Clearance—Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance (not older than 1 year)
