The Phishbowl
Welcome to the IU1 Phishbowl
Here you can find copies of phishing emails that have been sent to the Intermediate Unit 1 email domain. Your Information services department is aware of these and have taken the necessary steps to eradicate them. The intent of this web page is to continue to educate our employees on these threats in order for eveyone to stay vigilent and never drop your guard. Unfortunately cybercriminals never let up, their level of sophistication continues to grow and we have to question and scrutinize everything. Please remember that one bad actor with stolen login credentials can reek havoc on our entire enterprise. If you are not sure if an email is malicious or not, but something is telling you that it is suspicious or something just isn't right, follow your gut, Don't open, click or reply. Forward it to your information services team and we will evaluate it and advise you accordingly.
The cardinal rule for avoiding phishing scams is never to click a link in an email unless you are sure the email is from someone you trust. Most companies will not ask their customers to click a link in an email. If a company asks you to interact with them on their website, type the company’s known URL directly into your browser rather than use a link from an email.
