Evidence-Based Practices – Learning Environment and Engagement
Empowering educational teams to implement research-based strategies that support student behavior, engagement, and positive learning environments
Our Purpose
At IU1, our Training & Consultation (TaC) service supports educators, school teams, administrators, and families in implementing evidence-based practices (EBPs) for creating positive, engaging, and supportive learning environments. Through consultation and professional development, we help teams establish structures, routines, and interventions that promote student engagement, positive behavior, and social-emotional growth.
What is “Learning Environment and Engagement”?
The term "learning environment and engagement” refers to strategies, structures, and practices that foster student participation, motivation, and positive behavior within educational settings. Students benefit when classrooms and schools:
- Promote consistent expectations and routines
- Support social-emotional development
- Provide opportunities for active engagement and meaningful participation
