Data Department
The Data Department acts as liaison between PDE Special Education Office and all district LEAs for Special Education PIMS reporting. Also, assists all districts in the service area (Fayette, Greene and Washington counties) with all special education reporting and error resolutions for collections as well as Act 16 reporting, verifies and resolves local and statewide duplicate records, reconciles current to prior year reports for all districts in service area, and measures the impact of program changes reported to PDE. As well as identifies and verifies discrepancies through year-to-year comparisons for reporting. The Data Department also manages all PIMS uploads and data reporting for IU1, acts as System Administrator for Alma, provides general PIMS support for districts, and provides in-depth PIMS support/coverage for districts via contracts. They are the Data Quality Network Point or Contact and manages the Data Quality Curriculum for PDE. Last, are in charge of quarterly calculation and reconciliation of Special Education actual costs for member districts as well as cyber and charter schools and preparing annual Act 16 report for member districts.
