Autism
Autism a developmental disorder that appears by age three and that is recognized and diagnosed by impairment of the ability to form social relationships, by impairment of the ability to communicate with others, and by stereotyped behavior patterns especially as exhibited by a preoccupation with repetitive activities of restricted interest. Training and technical assistance in the area of autism spectrum disorder is provided to the 25 districts within the Intermediate Unit 1. These services include training and consultation to build upon knowledge and expand skills in research-based interventions. Additional supports provided include informational literature and community resources to districts and parents.
