Through the Farm to School Grant, IU1 is partnering with Republic Food Enterprise Center to work with Intermediate Unit 1 Colonial students and teachers. Through this partnership, Republic Food Enterprise Center offered a healthy cooking class for student’s grades K-5 to learn about local, nutritious foods. Students were also be provided with an “Ag” Bag filled with goodies and the recipe from their cooking class.
Chef Scott Spiker, provided the students with an authentic cooking class experience using locally produced foods. Scott provided the students with "Ag Bags" filled with goodies and a recipe card that aligns with their cooking class. This “Farm to School Grant Cooking Class” for your K-5 students:
