Local Student Gives Back!

Boy scout, Trevor Kotchman

Local Boy Scout, Trevor Kotchman gives back to IU1 Early Intervention program, and presents Early Intervention Supervisor, Barbara Rothermel, with specially designed tools for students.

Local Boy Scout from Troop 1391, Trevor Kotchman, presented items that he created as part of his Eagle Scout Project to Intermediate Unit One Early Intervention supervisor, Barbara Rothermel. For his project, Trevor worked with Boy Scouts, family, and community members to create slant boards for writing, t-stools for seating that provides movement, and weighted stuffed animals to help regulate students.

California Area Elementary and Middle School students and staff donated small toys and trinkets so reinforcement boxes could be created to help motivate students to work. This project was especially important for Trevor because as a pre-schooler "Miss. Barb" was Trevor's Speech Therapist. Presenting these items to her was a way for him to give back to an organization that was so helpful to him when he was younger.
