The 2023 Academic Competition was held Tuesday April 4, 2023, at the PennWest University Convocation Center. Students from Fort Cherry and Jefferson Morgan represented their respective schools while vying for the championship. The panels comprised of 4 students per school, as well as optional alternates, worked their way through four rounds of toss-up and fan-fare questions covering the topics of World History, American History, Current Events, Science, and American and English Literature before one school came out on top.
In the end, the Jefferson Morgan Rockets edged the Fort Cherry Rangers by winning three rounds to one in a best-of-five competition. As the winners, JM will go on to represent Intermediate Unit 1 at the Annual PA Academic Competition which will be held in the House of Representatives and Senate Chamber in Harrisburg PA on Friday, April 28, 2023.
