Alan Suyasa, 3rd grade student at South Central Elementary in the Canon-McMillan School District, participated in and took first place in his grade level at the Pennsylvania Regional Braille Challenge on February 8, 2020 at Berks County Intermediate Unit in Reading, PA.  The PA Regional Braille Challenge is part of the National Braille Challenge, sponsored through the Braille Institute.  This Regional Challenge hosted 30 students from PA in grades 1st-12th.  Alan was challenged in areas including reading comprehension, spelling and braille proofreading.  The top 10 students in each grade level category throughout the country and Canada will participate in the Nationals at the Braille Institute in Los Angeles, California in June and Alan is in the running for that opportunity.  Great job, Alan!!
