Annual Financial Report
Our Annual Financial Report was submitted to Harrisburg on its due date, October 31, 2008. The business department continues to complete this and other reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
E-Rate
Kristin Van Strien, Assistant Director of Information Services, reports that the districts that contract with IU1 for E-Rate consulting services along with the IU1 campuses have procured approximately $580,900 in E-Rate reimbursements. In addition, our reimbursement for the RWAN school districts and the IU is approximately $1.6 million.
Farewell
As you know, my last day on the job is Friday, November 14, 2008. Mr. Chal Mahoney is ready to step in as the Interim Executive Director. He is an extremely competent and experienced educational leader who will serve IU1 well.
Once again I want to thank the Board of Directors. I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the opportunities the Board has granted me. Please know that I will always look fondly on our relationship and the work we have done over the last 14 years.
Also, I want to acknowledge the team of department directors with whom I have had the pleasure to serve. They have worked diligently to set and accomplish goals upon which we have mutually agreed. They along with their respective Assistant Directors, professional and secretarial staff are a talented group. Of course, our successes are predicated on the work of our staff who provide direct services to our education clients: the teachers, including our Lead Support Teachers and Transition Support Teachers; psychologists; social workers; audiologists; speech therapists; curriculum specialists; TAC staff; technicians; interpreters; paraprofessionals; police officers; warehouse staff, principals and supervisors.
I want to thank all of the 750 plus IU1 staff members for allowing me to serve you. I wish all of you the best and I am confident that you will continue to provide the very best services to the students and communities of IU1.
