Data Processing
The Data Processing staff is responsible for supporting the internal computer operations of Intermediate Unit 1. We maintain a number of applications, such as: email, payroll, accounting, student records, the IU1 web site, the iuWeb Portal, and the Cooperative Purchasing system. We also develop and maintain databases for other IU1 departments such as Human Resources and Special Education.
Some of our responsibilities include:
- Web design, programming, database development and administration
- Email administration
- Maintain daily back-ups of our servers and all employee workstations in the central office
- Perform data collection for PIMS and Penn Data
- Provide help desk support for both Windows and Mac to over 700 of our employees
- Maintain a Cooperative Purchasing consortium along with our member school districts to use the power of bulk buying to reduce costs
