Advanced Elective Program
Elective classes are primarily for students entering grades 11 and 12 in the fall of 2008. Deadline for registration is June 10. Contact your guidance department. Orientation is June 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Intermediate Unit 1 and it is mandatory for the student and one adult to attend. (Driving Directions to IU1)

Student should have basic computer skills, experience with Word or Works, saving files, using the internet and an active email account. Access to a computer and internet are required.
Student will have limited access to a regional computer lab and all software, materials or online textbooks are provided. (2008 Labs at Ringgold High School, Albert Gallatin High School and Canon-McMillan High School)
Must have school district approval of the course for grade to be applied to your transcript. IU1 is working with district administrations to accept all or a portion of the classes. Contact Pam Hupp to confirm your district's participation before registering for a class.
Duration: June 26th to August 8th, 6 weeks (or 10-12 hr./week)
Classes Offered: 1 semester classes for students entering grades 11 -12 in fall 2008 (= .5 credit)
Must attend June 25th Orientation at Intermediate Unit 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Cost: $425 per class, paid in advance by June 15th, Check or money order only, payable to Intermediate Unit 1: mail to Intermediate Unit I, One Intermediate Unit Drive, Coal Center, PA 15423 (attn. C Diehl)
Registration: Contact Pam Hupp to confirm your district's participation. If your district is not participating, classes can be taken for personal enrichment, but grade will not be applied to your district transcript. For district credit, a guidance counselor or principal must sign the registration form; completed forms are faxed to Charlotte Diehl at 724-938-8722, or mail to IU1 address above. Application deadline is June 15th.
